SESSION RECAP:

The wizard, being defeated and tied, is willing to give information to the party in exchange for his life. He reveals that the pirates that hit merchant ships are hiding inside the cave of this dungeon and that right now the vast majority of them is absent, doing some pirating. As a result, they have left some loot behind that could be easy target, guarded only by a few pirates that have been left behind.

The four pirates that they were persuaded by the party to change sides, the wizard with his hands tied and the rest of the group head to meet the pirates in their cave. In there the wizard screams to alert them and tries to escape but is assasinated by Corax. In the fight that broke out the party easily defeated their opponents and got the loot. They gave the 4 pirates that cooperated their share and let them go away.

Then, the group started the small journey back to Dyvers. However, the last day of their travel, they are attacked by 3 giant two headed trolls. The party fled with their horses but Trenaccatlo and one of the party's henchmen perished in this unlucky encounter. The rest of them made it back safely to Dyvers.

THOUGHTS AFTER THE SESSION:

Another successful session for the party, with the exception of Trenaccatlo who has become the second PC that this player loses! Unfortunate but it happens.

Now there are more options for the party, as they know that the pirates have their lair in the cave and can use this information to gain the authorities' favor. It's also worth noting that Corax' addition in this sessions pushed me to a more CAG way to run the game. He was constantly asking "what is this city down there?", "what do we know of the Gnarley Forest?" etc etc. And he was right. I have given them a map with many locations, what's the point of that if I don't know what is happening in them. So from now on, I try to just know the general situation of every region, have a few dungeons ready and let them choose what they want to do, avoiding asking them what is their intentions before the session.

It's also worth noting that they had another extremely difficult random encounter of a monster I haven't seen before. They were attacked at night and they left all their treasure in the tent besides the gems but at least they survived!

Let's see how they will handle the pirates in the sessions to come!

Cauldron OSR Eurocon 2024 Day I

Wonderfull news! Me and two players from the OSRIC campaign attended the European OSR convention known as Cauldron in Germany! I will cover on this post how I experienced this truly amazing convention! Bare in mind that some details might have be mistaken because I didn't expect to write a report about it but I am so fired up by the con that I really want to share as much as I can! Also there will be major spoilers for every module I was involved in so be warned that if you want to play them in the future, skip carefully that part! Let's go then! THE TRIP     I began the journey to Germany from Athens where I live. I met Nico, my only compatriot in this adventure, at the airport on Thursday morning, the first day of the convention. I must admit that in the beggining I was a little sceptical about this whole expedition. I didn't know any of the guys involved in person besides Nico, I hadn't been in Germany before so we were really...

Cauldron OSR Eurocon 2024 Day II

After a crazy day of an exhausting trip, a great on-train session provided by Nico and an unbelievable Braunstein game, we took a much needed nap. However it wasn't meant to last for long because at 7:30 we had to be awake to bath, reach the dinner table at 8 and after that enlist ourselves for a game! Let's go! THE BREAKFAST     It's worth mentioning that our food was delicious and it was all created by the volunteers and the families of the Nexus club that hosts the event! They worked endlessly to make sure everything was provided and the result was unbelievable! I wish I could express how grateful me and everyone else is for this effort! A lot of cheese, coffee, sausage and juice found its way to our bellies and we were ready to begin our adventures!!!     Once again be warned that the rest of the report contains spoilers for every module that I took part in, so if you want to avoid them, skip the specific section. Cauldron OSR Eurocon 2024 Days III+IV

The first two days of cauldron had exceeded any expectation that I could possibly have! Every game was great, from the crazy Braunstein game to the deadly tournament module and the slaying of dragons and mad cultists, we were all having a great gaming time! Personally, my only concern was to get down for lunch on time in order to be able to enlist myself for the games I wanted. But that was not the case for the third day of Cauldron.       You see, the previous day we were informed that a great naval wargame would take place and we had already signed ourselves up! Just like the Braunstein game, it would take place on the gaming world of the ADDKON campaign and me, Nico and Mitch were excited to take part in this! So, we woke up, ate our breakfast and got ready to fight! NAVAL WARGAME BATTLE The table is set for battle     DM Ghoul have made the ambitious decision to run a great naval wargame on Saturday with 7 different factions forming up two...
