Session 14: Against the Temple of Merikka

PCs:

Causticas the elf, F2/MU2

Korin Clubfoor, dwarf, F3

SESSION REPORT:

On Planting 28, after the successful raid of the Golden Grain Inn for the third time this week, the party visits the hermit and he proposes to strike fast against the Temple of Merikka, before they regroup and put cultists in the Inn again. They decide to wait a few hours and when the sun will set, they will all move against the clerics.

Indeed, they will approach the Temple and using the poisoned healing potions that the clerics gave them, they put out the guard dogs of the temple. After that they assaulted the temple and despite the fierce resistance of Ambramo, his monks and his goblins, they managed to prevail. In the upper floor they found some skeletons but they retreated and decided to deal with them later.

With that done, they retreated back at the mayor's house.

LOOT AND KILLS:

Loot:

chainmail +2

24 sp

Kills:

Ambramo

8 goblins

6 monks

8 servants

DECEASED PLAYER CHARACTERS:

Urikas the elf, F1/MU1, Readying 25, 576 CY, eaten by ghouls

Zyla the elf, C1, Readying 25, 576 CY, eaten by ghouls

Jack, F1, Readying 28, 576 CY, slain by the evil cleric named Lareth

THOUGHTS AFTER THE SESSION:

The big showdown came and it was fun as hell. I used the tactics that the N1 proposed but the group was really carefull and handled the fight well. The trick with the silence coin, where you have a magic user cast silence in a coin and you send it close to the opposing magic user in order to not allow him to cast is BRILLIANT! I will use it from now on.

They didn't take too much of a loot, but now, while Orlane is infested with cultists, there is noone strong enough to oppose them there. Unfortunately for them however, the cultists are willing to die for their goddess and they are not ready to give up.

  1. You seem to always have 2 or 3 players max, anytime you run something and need players give me a holler. I'm always open to classic D&D games.

  2. The first months of the campaign were played by two players. Now we have 4 who are entering in every session but we are in a hiatus due to summer.

Campaign Report: OSR, Quickly (A West Marches Campaign using Whitehack 3e)

WHAT IS THIS?     In my OSRIC campaign we have a small break of two weeks and since I am up to date with the session reports of that campaign, I will say a few things about other games that I participated in. This one in particular is one that I hold dear in my heart because it was my first OSR campaign that I' ve played and the first OSR sessions that I was a part in! I joined this games discord server on 2021 and played in this game for more than a year! So, I will describe what we did and how it went! THE RULESET     As you can see from the title (and the image at the top of the post), we used Whitehack 3e for this campaign. I have already said that my ruleset of choice is OSRIC/ ADnD 1e but I am open to try other games, just like I like playing games other than DnD from time to time. What I want is to have rules that are consistent, help you understand the spirit of the game and provide you a specific goal.     Whitehack does that amazingly well!...

Cauldron OSR Eurocon 2024 Day I

Wonderfull news! Me and two players from the OSRIC campaign attended the European OSR convention known as Cauldron in Germany! I will cover on this post how I experienced this truly amazing convention! Bare in mind that some details might have be mistaken because I didn't expect to write a report about it but I am so fired up by the con that I really want to share as much as I can! Also there will be major spoilers for every module I was involved in so be warned that if you want to play them in the future, skip carefully that part! Let's go then! THE TRIP     I began the journey to Germany from Athens where I live. I met Nico, my only compatriot in this adventure, at the airport on Thursday morning, the first day of the convention. I must admit that in the beggining I was a little sceptical about this whole expedition. I didn't know any of the guys involved in person besides Nico, I hadn't been in Germany before so we were really...

Session 50: Battle Of The Iron Wood

PCs: sir Korin Clubfoot, dwarf, F6 Dame Mia the elf, T5/MU4 sir Norbor the half-orc, F5 PARTY'S HENCHMEN: Cleon, F4 Falhed, R1 Gravoldel, R1 Briu, T1 Vailbezal, I1 Larth, P1 Rhadum, R2 Jared, C1 Bierduth, C1 Zasti, MU1 Rotoris the elf, MU1 10 light horsemen 2 mounted crossbowmen SESSION RECAP:     The party starts preparing for the attack. The fact that a powerful magic user was part of the group that they were about to face was very worrisome. So they decide to use Mia's stealthiness as well as a potion of invisibility and a potion of undetectable poison that they had from previous adventures to take him out. The plan is to have an invisible Mia approach them when they prepare the meal of the day and poison the food that is intented for the magic user. Their prisoners informed them for the time that they usually eat and also for the fact that the wizard eats alone at his tower and one of his servants brings him his food.     However, the group knew that some ...
