SESSION RECAP:

Once the group has rested and Norbor was able to stand back at his feet, they started recruiting henchmen to make up for their losses. By hiring two agents and using their great fame in the city, they managed to find 13 available henchmen and they hired 8 of them.

Now that the party was of an important size once more, they went back to the dungeon of the elves. However, the one day and a half journey there wasn't uneventful. A few hours away from the city they were attacked by a giant hawk. During the first night, they met a patrol of Verbobonc that was returning to the city. But most unexpected was the appearance of 4 silver dragons the second day. One of them landed in front of them and asked them about a red dragon that was roaming the area. The party declared that they killed him, showing the dragon scales that they 've put on their armor as proof. The silver dragons were impressed and when asked, they said that they might help the party against the 4 red dragons that nest in the mountains. First however they have other business to attend to. With that said they flew away and let the party continue its march towards the forest.

A few hours later, they reached the forest and soon enough they are in the big tree that was hiding the entrance to the dungeon. They started searching various rooms that they haven't yet and killed two beetles. They discovered the armory of the lair with many old weapons, none of them usuable however and they also have found a log with the activities of the band and a letter that demanded assistance from Celene. From what they 've read, the elven band operated 40 years ago fighting against an unjust viscount who was overtaxing the people and was using this dungeon as its base. However, as soon as they started delving in the lower level they were attacked by many spiders, causing heavy casualties to the band of the followers of Ghandolan, the elven demigod of banditry. The cleric of the band had asked help from an archcleric of Celene who send Gandon, a famous hero with a group of warriors to help them. However they weren't enough and the band was about to ask for more help, since the spiders appeared to be coordinated and also many of their victims that the spiders took to their nest were coming back as zombies, which meant that evil forces were lurking. They also found a wand and a magic scroll.

Unfortunately for the group, this was not the only thing that they discovered in the room of the long dead cleric. There were also large spiders that attacked them and once more their poison caused Norbor to lose his life! The party managed to beat them and extract poison from them and from the dead huge spiders from their previous encounters in order to create antidotes with the help of the Verbobonc's alchemist. They took their loot and Norbor's body and headed back to Verbobonc.

The journey however was under terrible conditions. While normally they would need a day and a half to travel, strong gales and thunderstorms caused them to travel for more than 4 days! Luckily for them they didn't encounter anything suspicious, besides a group of merchants just outside the city gates.

As soon as they reached the city, they rushed to the temple of St. Cuthbert were the payed the cost of raise dead and Norbor was back to life once again! His body managed to withstand the shock of the spell, although I guess he won't want to see spiders again anytime soon. Also, the party gave the sample of the poisons to the alchemist, hoping for an antidote. He promised he would deliver and the party agreed to let him keep half of it as a reward. Mia used read magic to learn that the scroll is glass-steel and also they payed a wizard to identify their wand, which was proven to be a wand of negation.

THOUGHTS AFTER THE SESSION:

This session was like a deja vu. They visited the dungeon of the elven band, they were poisoned by spiders, Norbor died, they encountered dragons, Norbor was revived. Not exactly with that order but you get the point.

I think it's ridiculous that they had back to back sessions with dragon encounters! If i recall correctly this was the 5th time they met such creatures! Luckily for them, they were silver dragons so they were safe. When they met them, they tried to talk to them in chaotic good language but soon enough they realised they were lawful good! Their conversation was interesting, it would be nice to see if they will have any interaction again in the future.

Besided the dragons, spiders also caused some damage once again! And it was once more on Norbor! He had unlucky rolls but he was lucky when he needed to be. Once more, he rolled below 75 and came back to life. Again, until they managed to reach back and perform the spell, the team was anxious. They also had to deal with the extremely bad weather, which they read as a bad sign. Bad signs or not, Norbor is back and now they will have a few antidotes to use, so if they choose to go back, they will have a solution.

Also there was a lot of recruiting going on. They payed a lot of money on agents and I gave them a good bonus because of their reputation, being lords, dragons slayers etc. They now have clerics in the team, which can help them, especially with healing spells or slow poison. I decided to give them names, I didn't like the ranger1, fighter2 etc so I used an online fantasy name generator and voila! Let's hope that most of them will make it! One way to find out of course...
