SESSION RECAP:

The party started descending into the dungeon. After they went down some stairs, they reached a stuck door. Above it there was a writing that said GLORY TO YOLANDE! Mia and a few of the fighters had to push but eventually they opened it. Once they entered the room however, they faced an unexpected surprise. The stalagmites from the roof fell upon their heads! Most of them avoided them besides Helman the druid, who got hurt. After that of course, these monsters were unable to move away and were easily beaten by the party.

Once they put themselves together, they opened a door to their left and reached a circular room full of humanoids with burnt, disfigured faces. The party walked as carefully as possible away from them and passed through this room without any conflict, as the creatures didn't seem to notice them.

They then went through another circular room that had a statue of an elven woman very well dressed. There were 6 different doors in this circular room and the party started carefully listening to each one of these and enter to investigate them. In these rooms they faced various enemies, like a group of bandits or some troglodytes but they easily overpowered them and gathered some loot. They also found another corridor leading to the north but they decided to first look each door before they continue.

When they opened the last one, the door from which they came opened and the humanoids with the burnt faces entered. Suddenly, Mia, Andert and Flan panicked and fled. The rest of the party easily defeated their enemies and after a few minutes Mia and Flan came to their senses and returned to the group. Unfortunately, Andert had left through the corridor to the north and the party couldn't comminucate with him.

THOUGHTS AFTER THE SESSION:

Finally, after months, the group is back on a dungeon. Now that my schedule looks better, I can run a few sessions in consecutive weeks and the group is building its momentum once again. They started exploring the dungeon and I had a lot of time to build it and think about its denizens so we are all having fun playing it.

I am curious to see how things will play out. Now Andert left running and the party must decide if they go after him or not. I doubt that they will abandon him on his fate, however, a guy running wearing armor and screaming like a child will attract a lot of attention, not only friendly one...

It was also really funny that I used the piercers! That was the result of OSRIC random dungeon encounters that I used to populate it and after that encounter, the players wasted TONS of turns shooting stalagmites in every room just to be safe from another attack! Paranoia at its best!

I am excited to see how the delving will go! The players just started scratching the surface of this dungeon, soon enough we shall now how they will fare in there! It's up to them now! Fight on!!!

Campaign Report: OSR, Quickly (A West Marches Campaign using Whitehack 3e)

WHAT IS THIS?     In my OSRIC campaign we have a small break of two weeks and since I am up to date with the session reports of that campaign, I will say a few things about other games that I participated in. This one in particular is one that I hold dear in my heart because it was my first OSR campaign that I' ve played and the first OSR sessions that I was a part in! I joined this games discord server on 2021 and played in this game for more than a year! So, I will describe what we did and how it went! THE RULESET     As you can see from the title (and the image at the top of the post), we used Whitehack 3e for this campaign. I have already said that my ruleset of choice is OSRIC/ ADnD 1e but I am open to try other games, just like I like playing games other than DnD from time to time. What I want is to have rules that are consistent, help you understand the spirit of the game and provide you a specific goal.     Whitehack does that amazingly well!...

Cauldron OSR Eurocon 2024 Day I

Wonderfull news! Me and two players from the OSRIC campaign attended the European OSR convention known as Cauldron in Germany! I will cover on this post how I experienced this truly amazing convention! Bare in mind that some details might have be mistaken because I didn't expect to write a report about it but I am so fired up by the con that I really want to share as much as I can! Also there will be major spoilers for every module I was involved in so be warned that if you want to play them in the future, skip carefully that part! Let's go then! THE TRIP     I began the journey to Germany from Athens where I live. I met Nico, my only compatriot in this adventure, at the airport on Thursday morning, the first day of the convention. I must admit that in the beggining I was a little sceptical about this whole expedition. I didn't know any of the guys involved in person besides Nico, I hadn't been in Germany before so we were really...

Session 50: Battle Of The Iron Wood

PCs: sir Korin Clubfoot, dwarf, F6 Dame Mia the elf, T5/MU4 sir Norbor the half-orc, F5 PARTY'S HENCHMEN: Cleon, F4 Falhed, R1 Gravoldel, R1 Briu, T1 Vailbezal, I1 Larth, P1 Rhadum, R2 Jared, C1 Bierduth, C1 Zasti, MU1 Rotoris the elf, MU1 10 light horsemen 2 mounted crossbowmen SESSION RECAP:     The party starts preparing for the attack. The fact that a powerful magic user was part of the group that they were about to face was very worrisome. So they decide to use Mia's stealthiness as well as a potion of invisibility and a potion of undetectable poison that they had from previous adventures to take him out. The plan is to have an invisible Mia approach them when they prepare the meal of the day and poison the food that is intented for the magic user. Their prisoners informed them for the time that they usually eat and also for the fact that the wizard eats alone at his tower and one of his servants brings him his food.     However, the group knew that some ...
