The time for the grand tournament arrived! There were three competitions, jousting, melee and thieves' skills challenge and the winners would have the honor of joining the group in their fight against the red dragons!

The party spent a lot of money for this and knights from all over the viscounty, and even further away, from Veluna and Furyondy arrived! Among them an old friend, the paladin known as Jean-Pierre from Veluna city who helped them fight of a band of thieves two years ago.

Jean-Pierre managed to prevail in the jousting competition, Korin won the melee so the party was joined by the second man standing, a fighter named Pykus and the thieves' competition was won by a thief called Gorovosok.

THOUGHTS AFTER THE SESSION:

This was a different session than the rest obviously. We decided to have some fun and use the jousting rules of chainmail for the tournament. In every round one of us was picking one fighter and someone else the other. We were typing in the chat the defensive and attack choice and in the count of 3 we posted it.

It was very fun! After a while we had all picked up a strategy and were lancing it out! The rules of jousting are really cleverly made. You must try them at least one, it's a really funny minigame.

For the meele we decided to have each one of us pick and control 4 fighters and have them all in a pit. To speed it up we were using the chainmail rules to see if a fighter hits his opponent using the combat table, even though out minis were representing one man and not 10. Fighters of higher level had more "lives" equal to their hd.

After a while Mia's player had one level 1 character win by staying out of every confrontation and having the rest of knocking each other out! Korin easily defeated by he made it in the team! That of course might not me good for the party, since they now gained a level 1 fighter but it was fun nevertheless!

Finally, for the thieves' competition, Mia's player picked up a small module of a dungeon full of traps. The rest of us used thieves to bypass the traps and the thief who had deactivated the most traps joined the expedition!

These mini games were a nice break from our usual gaming! Now, the party is ready to fight some dragons! Wish them luck!
